Recently I went up a logging road to check out some bee hives that had been put there for Fire Weed season. The hives are enclosed in electric fence in order to stop bears from getting at them and eating the honey and bee larva.
The scenery was beautiful, even though it was a clear cut filled with reforestation and fire weed. Several trees were left standing tall, while the majority had been cut for logging purposes; we looked down the mountain side to the blue layers of trees and hills. The horizon and islands in the distance.
The area was teaming with life, the silence was broken with the sound of singing birds. It was truly breath taking. I could have stayed up there for hours, just to "be". The painting "Reaching for the Sky" came from this day up the mountain.
