Several weeks ago, I went for an amazing walk to Francis Point Peninsula with my good friend Jackie. We were walking along the rocks, above the oceans edge, and just when we thought the walk was over, we stumbled across this RIDICULOUSLY insane and beautiful Arbutus Grove.
I've never seen Arbutus trees like this, they must have been hundreds of years old... And the interesting thing is, they were facing into the ocean, into a pending storm, unlike any other tree. Other trees have a tendency to be blown and swayed by the wind and bend, shaping itself with the wind, not lean into it, like these ones...
This painting is 36x48" and is available; it can be seen at my Gallery in Halfmoon Bay. Feel free to contact me if you'd like a closer look.
